My new family

Just in case you dont already know...I am the FHE Mom. That is my calling. I wasn't too excited about it first because they just handed me a paper with the apartment numbers that were in my group and gave me no intruction whatsoever. I also had no idea who my husband was. I didn't know him until an hour before our first FHE. Really organized ward. With the help of my roommates we planned our first monday night. I made 40 funfetti cupcakes, planned a short lesson, and Emma and Amanda planned the game. We put flyers on each door we were assigned to and hoped that they would show up. Well about 15 boys showed up and the only girls were me, Amanda, and Emma. The first night was a success!

A little background on some of the guys in my family:

Joe: Calls me "Mommy" in public. I told him to never do that again. Kind of a weird kid but we love him anyway.
Schuyler: My Husband. From Nashville, Tennessee. Could be Jack Black's Twin. One of the funniest guys I have ever met and the best fake husband ever!
Ben and Chad Truman: Brothers from Nashville as well. Their Dad is the keyboardist for the country band Diamond Trio. They have their own band called Truman and they won BYU's Battle of the Bands on friday night! We all went to support and as they were playing I screamed "Thats my son!" Everyone around me turned and gave me weird looks...kind of awkward but so great at the same time.
Dave Taggert: 30 year old Stock Broker. Enough said.

So tonight we had our 3rd FHE. Schuyler planned this one with another family group. We were all going to meet and then play capture the flag on BYU campus. It was sunny and nice all day and then an hour before we were all going to meet it suddenly got really cloudy and a thunderstorm came through. Oh how I love Utah weather. Anyway we all met and some of us did not want to play capture the flag anymore because it was thunderstorming. So we had a little thought and the ones who didnt want to play just decided to go home. That included me, Amanda, and our new roommate Jenny. My husband Schuyler didn't want to either because he was in flip flops. So we were walking back to my apartment when we spotted Dave (30 year old) walking up the stairs. Dave was in charge of treats that night. I said, "Dave! Where are the treats?" To which he replied, "Oh I was just planning on buying Smart Cookie for everyone."

Quick background on Smart Cookie: A scoop of ice cream smashed inbetween two cookies of your choice. An amazing dessert for only 2 dollars!

Since Dave has a real job I guess he can afford this. After he found out it was just 5 people he upgraded to Macaroni Grill! (My favorite restaurant in Provo) So for FHE we were treated to an amazing pasta dinner! It was great and we all had such a good time!

In conclusion, Schuyler and I decided that Dave would be in charge of treats every week.
