Orzo and London Broil

Yesterday night I had the best home cooked meal since I have been here.

I got home from the library around 5:00 yesterday afternoon exsausted and really hungry. My roommate Amanda just got back from work and she felt the same way I did. We decided to clear our minds of our stressful days and watch one of our favorite movies, "Remember the Titans." Not even halfway through the movie we both feel asleep on our couches. We must have been sleeping for two hours when we heard the door open and two people come inside and into our kitchen. I thought it was our other roommates so we thought nothing of it and kept sleeping. About another hour later I awoke to the smell of garlic bread and some kind of marinated meat. I turned to Amanda and she was waking up as well. We both sat up from our sleep positions and looked over into the kitchen. Two of our guy friends were busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Because I had just woken up I was in the confused stage of "where am I?" and "whats going on?" The smell that was hovering around our apartment was so amazing that I suddenley realized that these two boys were making us dinner! I went from being really tired to really excited in seconds!

Amanda and I jumped up and went into the kitchen to give them both big hugs and help them with the rest! Soon our other two roommates got back from work and school and had the same reaction! Brian and Nathan claimed "it was nothing" when we asked them how much they spent and how grateful we were! Brian made orzo which i have never had before. Its basically little noodles in the shape of rice mixed in with sauted vegetables. He also made cheesy garlic bread, salad, and broccoli! Then Nathan came in our door with a huge plate of London Broil that he had been grilling outside. The girls and I set the table with all of our cute plates and cups and we all sat down as a family to eat this amazing meal!!

We couldn't believe how much time and energy Brian and Nathan put into all of this! We made them a whole bunch of cookies to bring home with them! Brian said that he loves to cook but never can because he doesn't want to cook for just himself. So cooking for a lot of people is better. We told them anytime they want to come over and cook in our kitchen is fine with us! I love southern boys. The end.
