Motocross. The most exciting sport. Ever.

I have been meaning to write a blog about this great sport that I have gotten so into in the past two years. Before I met Shmike, I really had no idea was motocross was all about. I had seen a dirtbike before but never really knew that people actually raced them and took it as a serious sport. Then Shmike and I hung out for the first time and he showed me a motocross documentry movie. I was hooked 10 minutes into it. Maybe it had something to do with how enthusiastic he got while watching it and explaining how everything worked to me. But I loved it. Oh and I am definitley not the type of girl to plop down on the couch on superbowl sunday and scream over guys tackling each other. That is why I was so surprised. Motocross was the first real sport that interested me.

Then a week later, Shmike invited me to go to the Supercross (motocross on a track in a football stadium) in San Francisco. If you have never seen a race before I definitley reccomend it! Seriously these races are so crazy! These pro riders that have the guts and physical strength to ride these bikes are amazing! Not to mention, some of the riders are pretty cute. haha! This is no monster truck rally. Once you start learning about each rider there becomes a emotional attachment when you watch them race. You want them to win so badly. After about six months I was able to name most of the riders and their numbers. Shmike and his Dad would quiz me often. I have been to three supercross races. Two in San Fran and then one in Anaheim. They are so fun! We even stood in the pouring rain to watch one of them! It was so intense. Even I was screaming and jumping up and down for Ricky Carmichael to win.

I would also go to the motocross track a lot with Shmike and watch him, his brother, and his dad ride. Shmike is really good and I loved watching his races! So I guess I had to love motocross. But it was never forced because I started to like it on my own. Anyway if you have the channel "Speed", watch the race this Friday at 9:30pm. Its happening in Daytona, Florida. It is going to be a really good race! Oh and root for Ricky Carmichael (#4) or James Stewart (#7). The best riders out there!
