boy crazy.

Let's be honest...I am a little boy crazy. Just ask my mom, she tells me all the time. But lately I think it has grown into an issue. I am especially crazy over celebrity males. I don't know how to cure it or if it even needs to be cured. I could probably name 20 celebrities that I drool over when seeing them on the big screen. I discovered my problem when the thought, "I have a crush on him" went through my mind while reading "1776" for my history class. Yup. You guessed it. I have a full fledged crush on George Washington.

General George Washington to be exact. He was an incredible man! Not only was he the first President of the US of A, but he was our commander in the Revolutionary War. When Congress elected  him to be General over the Continental Army he was hesistant. In no means was he a great artiliary man. He had little experience in the army and even less experience in leadership skills. But he excepted with these words, "I will enter upon the momentous duty, and exert every power I possess in their service and for the support of the glorious Cause." When he married his wife Martha, he adopted her two children that she already had and took them in as his own. He loved theater and architecture. His house in Mount Vernon was a sight to see with all that he had done to it. He was liked by all political men and was known to be a very trustworthy and important man.

He fought side by side with his men on the front line. He was there till the very end helping his soldiers and bringing their spirits up when they were low. At the end of my book it says, "Without Washington's leadership and unrelenting perservance, the revolution almost certainly would have failed."

So yes, I have a big fat crush on George Washington. He was a stud of a man with all that he did for our country. I might also have a crush on Thomas Jefferson, but that's a different story...

(p.s. my major is now History so I'm pretty into it these days.)
