We all woke up early Saturday morning and headed to the park in town for a good homemade breakfast. Pancakes, eggs, and sausage. Then we found a great spot on the side of the road to watch the parade. Catching candy from the floats is my favorite... I ate a lot of tootsie rolls. Price had a lot of friends around him and the house all day. It was fun to have so many people over. We jet skiied, BBQed, layed out, rope swinged, and listened to some good tunes.

One of the highlights from the day was our WATER BALLOON FIGHT. Kim, Price, Ian, and I filled up almost 400 water balloons. Bart and I were captains and picked players to be on each of our teams. We lined up in the front yard and starting throwing! It only took about three minutes for all of the water ballons to be gone and for all of us to be soaked to the bone. It was so funny! Definitely a tradition that will live on each year.

Then we all got changed and went to the park to watch the fireworks show. Complete with country music in the background.

I am so grateful for this country. Being a history major and learning more about our country's history, I have a whole new outlook on Independence Day. Our country is so young and it is amazing how far we have come just in the past 250 years. I am pretty freakin proud to be an American, that's for sure.

that sounds so fun! dare i even say this? danville was pretty lame for the 4th. we had to fight to set up chairs the night before and all the floats are city council members. barely a pageant queen in site, and those floats are what i live for.
