picchi pacchiu.

Do you know what picchi pacchiu is? Yeah, I didn't either until about 2 weeks ago. Picchi pacchiu is a pasta sauce consisting of fresh crushed tomatoes, garlic, EVOO, and fresh basil. Why do I know this you ask? Because I have to memorize every little crazy ingredient in every crazy complicated dish on the menu at the restaurant I work at. I am a new hostess at Carrabbas Italian Grill.

I love Carrabbas. It is such a fun enviornment and I really like working there. All of the employees are so nice and I have already made friends. Being a hostess is harder than I thought. You would never know that asking for a booth or a table, other than the one they are taking you to, really messes things up. I now have a new respect for hostesses everywhere.

Back to picchi pacchiu...in order to work at Carrabbas everyone has to take a menu test. This isn't just any ordinary menu test. This is the hardest thing you can ever imagine. Times one thousand. Haha...ok maybe I'm over exaggerating. I have over 150 note cards of every Italian dish ever made. I have to memorize every little ingrediant in every dish. I cannot tell you how many things have basil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar. In order to keep working at Carrabbas I have to pass with a 90%. I just took the test open book and got an 87%. OPEN BOOK. Awesome.

So wish me good luck studying! Lets just say, I never want to see the words romano cheese ever again.

A test, really? That is RIDICULOUS! I would have seriously laughed in their face. You should ask them if you get credits for it, like does it count toward your overall GPA? ;) Good luck with it!

Ha ha Rachel!! I just love that you are working there! Ok I cried like 20 times about taking that stupid menu test... I got away without taking it actually because I was too busy. I had to avoid Clay at all costs because he asked if I had taken it everyday! Eventually he gave up! Good job for taking it! You rock.
