I watched the new "Karate Kid" with Todd last night and I couldn't help but think about my time in China throughout the movie. There is a scene when Dre and that little chinese girl go exploring through Beijing. They come across these gross bugs on a stick at an outside market. Todd said, "That is not real..." And I responded with, "Yes, yes it is. Chinese people love that stuff." So I decided to look back through my China pictures and see what pictures I took of all the weird food I saw and did NOT eat...haha...I was not that adventurous.
{Chicken heads? yummy?}
{Starfish and Seahorse. Normal.}
{One of our first meals in our school cafeteria.}
{Deeeeeeelish?}
{Grocery store food. Notice the sleeve of Oreos. An everyday necessity.}
{Really? Not edible. Except for the yummy mantou on the bottom right. I lived for those things. It is a steamed roll. They saved me.}
{My Thanksgiving dinner last year. Seriously so good. Love me some spicy chicken sandwich from China KFC.}
{I don't even know.}
{Dried fish. Smells so great...not.}
{Another cafeteria meal. I was so over it by this point.}
{My FAVORITE meal in China by far. Fried noodles. Spicy and deeeelicous! Only 5 yuan=80 cents!}
And this picture represents my teaching experience there. Crazy always. But so great. I miss my little chiner kiddos.
