The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come

This Christmas break I was visited by the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come. He showed me what life is like being a Mom. For the past two weeks I have had the opportunity to take care of the Holt Household. As many people know my Mom had surgery and has been bed-ridden for a couple weeks now. I am not going to lie, I was not too excited to come home and use my Christmas Break cleaning, cooking, and taking care of everything. But I decided to have a good attitude about it and make the best out of things. Looking back at these weeks I am thankful that I had this chance to take care of my Mom and the house. I have learned a lot and have a better appreciation for what Moms do all around the world. Some of the chores that I did everyday were: waking up at 7:00am, getting Price ready for school, letting the dogs out, taking Brisket on a walk, doing the dishes, watering the Christmas tree and plants, doing the dishes some more, doing laundry, delivering christmas presents, sorting christmas cards and hanging them up on the wall, going to the grocery store and fighting off other Moms for the last package of dinner rolls, vaccuming, doing more dishes, cooking dinner for Christmas Eve and Christmas, being Santa Claus by putting out the presents on Christmas Eve, and making sure my mom is as comfortable as possible. I actually enjoy cleaning the kitchen now. Give me some dish washing gloves and I can empty the dishwasher and load it again all the way full in 10 minutes. Mom is getting better everyday and will soon be as good as new. I love my Mom and all that she does for us and all that she did for us while growing up. I hope one day I can be atleast a small percentage of the Mom she is for us.
