Love, Your Secret Admirer

So I am not gonna lie. I am a sucker for Valentines Day. I don't even care if people call it a "Hallmark" Day. I love it. The hearts, the cookie making, the red and pink M+Ms, heart shaped boxes of chocolates, decorative cards, cute teddy bears, and beautiful roses. Even when I was a awkward middle school kid that no boys ever liked I still loved Valentines Day. I remember I made this huge cookie in the shape of a heart and wrote "Happy V-Day" on it with pink frosting, brought it to school, and my friends and I ate the whole thing. I looked up what Valentines Day was all about on Wikipedia. This is what they said about it:

"Saint Valentine's Day or Valentine's Day is on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other; sending Valentine's cards or candy. It is very common to present flowers on Valentine's Day. The holiday is named after two men, both Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline and the figure of the winged Cupid. I had a great Valentines Day this year. I deserve bragging rights because Valentines Day has never been this good. So I woke up, got ready for class, opened my front door and on the door step was 8 long stemmed red roses in a vase full of water, a large heart shaped box of chocolate truffles, a card from my "secret admirer", and of course two king sized boxes of Junior Mints! (my all time favorite candy). I was so excited! I immediatley opened the box of chocolates and had a couple for breakfast (hehe). Shmike has been signing his cards to me as my secret admirer since we first started dating. Anyway to say the least it was just what I hoped for and more. Am I a dork for loving this so much?

Then Shmike took me to The Roof for dinner in Salt Lake City. We actually went the day after Vday since it was all full. If you have never been there I highly reccomend it. This restaurant sits on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial building. On one side of the restuarant there are huge windows that overlook the Temple. It is so beautiful at night when the Temple is all lit up. Very romantic. The menu is buffet style. It is a very high class buffet. Everything from mahi mahi to prime rib. The food was amazing, the piano player played all of our favorite songs, and dessert was even better. And I got to wear my cute orange dress that I have been dying to wear somewhere.
