Last but definitely not least, this is my oldest sister Laurel. Or "La" as I like to call her. Out of all my siblings, I think Laurel and I are the most alike personality wise. Atleast I like to think so. I love being with La. It has been very hard for me to have her live so far away over all these years. Last New Years was the first time I saw her in over a year. I just don't think that should be aloud in the rulebook of sisterhood. But I guess thats what living across the country from each other does to you.
The biggest and best memory I have of La can be summed up in one beautiful word. *NSYNC. I wish digital cameras were around back in the day because I would have loved to capture the moments at those *NSYNC concerts. Even though Laurel was seven years older than me we both had such a strong love for *NSYNC. She liked Justin Timberlake and I loved JC Chasez. I remember when we went to their "No Strings Attached" concert together at Pacbell Stadium. It was electrifying. Yes I will admit, I did shed a few tears when JC came out on stage. But we will not get into that. Laurel would brag that her birthday was exsactly 2 months after Justins. Justins was January 31st and Laurels was March 31st. I also remember the many times we would watch "MTV's Total Request Live" and get so excited when *NSYNC's music videos came on.
Thinking back on the memories I have with La is funny because most of them involve television shows. Maybe it's because I was too little to remember a lot when she was still living at home. I used to think I was so cool and so old when I watched "Beverley Hills 90210" with her after school. I also remember watching classic shows such as, "Saved by the Bell", "Breaker High", and there was one more tv show about high school kids but I cannot think of them name. La and I also loved the Game Show Network. We could watch "Match Game", "Family Fued", and "Lets Make A Deal" over and over again.
Laurel has always been such an awesome older sister. She always wants the best for me and is so excited to hear about what is going on in my life. I really appreciate that from her. La also always wants me to be happy. I remember before Meriel got married, we went to New York to visit Laurel. I will always remember this trip because it was so fun to have us three sisters all together. One night we had tickets to see "Beauty and the Beast" on Broadway. The theater was located in Times Square and that night was the most crowded I had ever seen it. We all held hands and lead each other through the crowds. I had told La earlier that I wanted some Junior Mints to munch on during the show. While we were trying to make our way through the crowds we stopped at every kiosk to see if they sold Junior Mints. We were all laughing so hard as we went fomr kiosk to kiosk asking for Junior Mints in this area filled with millions of people. Laurel didn't quit looking and asking until we found a box. Finally we found a kiosk that sold them. I will always remember that small thing she did for me all to make me happy.
I look up to my older sister so much. She is now a mother of a little two and half year old girl who is by far the cutest girl in New York City. And La is pregnant with her second child. I know I am her younger sister but I am so proud of who she is. To see her raise her little girl in this huge city makes me so proud to say she is my sister. Laurel is beautiful, smart, fun, and hilarious. We have such a good time together and so many laughs are shared. Thank you Laurel for setting such a great example for who I want to become when I get older. I love you.
