Conference!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the first session of General Conference! I went with my three friends, Michelle, Alex, and Landon. We had great seats right in the center on the lower level. I love being able to hear the Prophet's words in the same room as him. The spirit is so strong in that great center. I love when the Tab Choir sings. As they were singing I thought back to when I was little and used to look for Grandma Holt. It was a contest between my siblings and I to see who could spot her first! I wished that I could have seen her sing live and not just on TV. You are amazing Grams! Thanks for passing some of your beautiful singing talent onto me!

I love General Conference so much. We are so lucky to be able to learn from our Prophet and his Apostles through their talks. One of my favorite talks yesterday was by Spencer J. Condie. He spoke of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. He told about their lives, their faith, their children and their wives. This talk spoke to me personally. He talked about Jacob's wife (favorite wife might I add haha) Rachel, and how she could not have children for quite sometime. She prayed and prayed and kept being unsuccessful. Jacob's other wives were able to bear many sons and daughters. Although Rachel was frustrated she kept praying, following the commandments and believing that God would answer her prayers. Spencer J. Condie quoted Gensis 30:22, "And God remembered Rachel." Rachel was able to bear two sons to Jacob, Joseph and Benjamin. Because my name was included in that sentence, it stood out to me. Condie went on to explain that God remembers all of us. He hears our prayers and wants to help us succeed in life. We need to be faithful and keep the commandments. I love that I can pray to our Heavenley Father for help in my daily life. I feel such a closeness with Him while I am praying. I know He hears me and is more than willing to help me if I do my part. He remembers each one of us. He remembers me. He knows each of us and our trials. We must come to Him and remember He is always there.

Rachel -

You are so awesome! I loved that talk to, I really liked the part when he talked about being patient - how we are so used to everything being fast but in God's time it all works out. Luv ya cuz!

Hey! Off the subject a bit . . . what's going on with Meriel, did she get hurt or something? I'm obviously out of it. Is everything all right?
