How to Creat the Sundance Experience

Meet Bobby Redford: My Boss

Well, technically he is not my boss. But I do work at his resort so that does make me an employee of his establishment right? And ok, he is not that good looking anymore and has aged quite a bit from his Sundance Kid days. But you gotta love him.

I am a Deli Girl. I work at the Deli at Sundance Ski Resort. This is my second week working and I already love it! Every single person that works at Sundance is so nice and welcoming! I have already made tons of friends. We all work together to "Create the Sundance Experience". (This is our mission statement that I learned about for 6 hours at Orientation...good times...)

What does a Deli Girl do might you ask? I make gormet sandwiches, coffee, cappucinos, hot chocolate, take room service orders, eat really yummy cookies, take out the trash, blend smoothies, scoop ice cream, prepare gift baskets, eat berries and custard from the Tree Room restaurant chefs, water the Christmas tree, and mop the floors.

Sundance is such a great enviornment! It is like a little oasis from busy old Provo. It is all alone up in the mountains with its beautiful snow covered pine trees and mountains. The Deli is such a cute little place and is right next to the Foundry Grill. The Grill one of the nicer restaurants at Sundance. Then there is the Tree Room, down the hall, which is the 5 star restaurant.

Some benefits from working at Sundance:
- Free Season Ski pass!!!
- 50% off of all Restaurant purchases
- 30% off at the General Store
- Free food while working in the Deli
- Sightings of famous people like Lindsey Lohan and Robert Redford. (I will def blog about it if I ever see someone famous)

The lifts open this weekend and work is going to get crazy busy! I don't even want to know how many cappucinos I am going to have to make for skiers. But I am excited to learn and have this great job! In a couple weeks once I get the hang of it you should all come visit! Come get a hot chocolate or a sandwich! The 20 minute drive up Provo Canyon is worth it for just one of their huge cookies! I might even be able to give you one for free ;)

Rachel,

I had no idea that you are a deli girl. We will be seeing you soon!

For me, the very best brownie in the world is a Sundance deli brownie. I've been trying to recreate them for years, without much luck.

My office puts together a big dinner for one of my clients every other month at Sundance. I talk about the brownies so much with the event staff that they sometimes bring a big bag of them down to my office.

(If you run into Brandon, tell him it's about time to bring some more.)

See you soon!

Are you kidding me? I know Brian already wrote you a note, but Sundance is one of my favorite places. There really isn't much to it, but just a stroll around the deli and the store is a treat. My kids will be up there skiing this year and I will go with Gabe and get a hot cocoa, sit by the fire outside and watch the skiers come down the mountain. And OH! the brownies. You lucky girl.

And can I just say, I wish you would post on your blog like every day, because your posts are some of my favorite to read.

Sounds like a great new job!! Will it ever be tricky driving up in the snow? You might actually get a complimentary stay at Sundance if you get snowed in at work!! Fun Fun Fun!!

ya that is one of the cons about the job...driving up and down the mountain in the snow is SO SCARY. it took me an hour to get home the other night while it was snowing.
