rabbits.

In the town near my school there are these little three wheeled taxis everywhere. They are called Rabbits. They remind me of smart cars, but super ghetto. I accidentley broke one of the doors of a Rabbit…the driver wasn’t too happy with me. They also go about 2 miles an hour and it feels like they might break down at any moment. Most of these little cars are white but once in a while you see a bright pink one or a bright blue one. We always try to look for the pink one. It’s a goal to ride in it by the end of our stay here.

On other news, the city of Weihai doesn’t give heat to anyone until the 23rd of November. Only in China. It’s about 20 degrees here and it snowed flurries yesterday. Luckily our apartments are on the 5th floor so it’s a little warmer and we just bundle up every night. I also open the door of my little convection oven to let some heat around our room which kind of works…but hopefully it will warm up a little until the end of November. On a good note- we discovered that McDonalds has heat and REALLY yummy hot chocolate so we often take the bus into the city to hang out there for a while.

Teaching has changed…again. The teachers that were chosen to stay at the school (including me) have to now teach another hour each day. Three and a half hours may not seem like a long time to you guys, but TRUST me. It’s like a lifetime when you are trying to entertain these kids that you can’t communicate with for that long. We now have five rotations that are 40 minutes long each. Today is our first day of the new schedule so wish me luck!

Miss you all! We only have 46 more days here…time flies! My parents and Price come out in 3 weeks to visit me!! I cannot wait!

It's so crazy that the country doesn't turn on the heat till then. We had that problem in one of our apartment buildings. They wouldn't turn the heat on in the building until a certain time, so none of the apartments could have heat. I hated it and was so mad and was always like "we don't live in a communist country! I should be able to turn my heat on whenever I want to!" Haha.
